    When building a house we use heavy plastic as a vapor barrier. Why not take the lower panels off as well and put the same type of vapor barrier in??? I would think that would do wonders for the insulation factor!!

I think I'm probably going to get a 5x8 trailer for my Jeep to pull. During the day, I want as much open working space as possible. So hopefully it'll work out great. I'm excited to get started🙂

    Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

  • @bigal7561
    @bigal7561 Год назад

    Use it like your home ac. Have you intake pull air from the cabin. It makes no sense to me to pull hot air to cool when you can recirculate interior that will be cooler and ac unit will not have to work as hard. Vent out of course. The air exchange rate would be pretty high on one side but if it's pulling too much use the installed vents in the roof and side walls to regulate the air flow in the envelope so opening the door will not be an issue. I've never done that but it seems to make sense to me. I'll be adding ac, light and plug in for tv for my enclosed trailer that I will be taking to shows and rallies and it would be nice to have the option to bring a cot to stay in my trailer rather than a hotel. I'd just set it up with a quite run Honda generator which will put out plenty of amps. and no conversion would be needed.

    Same thing with commercial cameras now a days. I’ll run the wire, install the cameras and do all the connections. But don’t ask me to get it online. Cameras are usually all plug in play. But when they want to secure it all and get it working over a local and external network, that’s up to the IT guys.

  • @MrDumonic

    Now it’s all 2gig EDGE, IQ4, and DSC NEO. I’m one of the only techs also still installing PARADOX LOL. One certain company is installing PARADOX everywhere and I’m the only who can install it, and somewhat programme it. Most of it is uploaded over telco. No cellular or Ethernet here. I hate connecting over Ethernet. IP, port forwarding, static ip, 😂. Not my cup of tea. I can wire it, program in necessary numbers, but if it don’t work. Get someone else

  • @MrDumonic
    @MrDumonic Год назад

    Don’t get me started on double zones 😂. GE NETWORX. 😂. I installed this panel back in the 90’s. Double zoning, stupid programming. This is why I love the DSC’s. The rest is all overkill. Thank goodness I don’t do fire alarms. 😂.

  • @MrDumonic
    @MrDumonic Год назад

    Love the explanation. I just use n/c loops. Especially now with wireless. If a wire is shorting out and I can’t use a different pair, sorry time to go wireless. Resistors are mostly used for supervision in commercial circuits where someone may try and tamper with wiring. But that’s more on the really big commercial side. Residential and small commercial we don’t use EOL. I hate EOL’s cause I find it harder to troubleshoot why a zone keeps false’ing. I work better with uninterrupted circuits. I totally understand why you would do this, but it just complicates things. Dealing with resistors at the panel is much more convenient.

    Did you use the Olylog screws into the end logs (horizontally) on the ends, as well as vertically? I can see doing both, as it sucks the end log into the other logs horizontally, and pulls them close together. I couldn't tell exactly from the video. Your build is inspiring and I am going to do the same (or similar) as soon as the snow is gone here. Mine will be 24x28 and I am going to use 5x5 rough sawed timbers, so the dimensions are actual 5x5 as they are not milled smooth. Thanks for the video.

    I am so glad I found your video. I had been going to get one of those log cabin kits, but the prices are way too high. I can buy cedar 6x6 like this half the price that the kits supply. I am going with slab also. I can't tell from the first video if you put the first log right on the concrete (after wrapping with the moisture barrier), or if you put down a 2 x 6 plank first? Either way, what did you anchor the first log to? Anchors into the concrete, liquid nail? I know the weight of the logs and the fact they will all be secured together is probably enough, just wondering if you did anything to the first row? Looking forward to watch all of them, it is winter here now, and I can't start till spring. It was 20 below Farenheight here this am.

    • @Krakology
      @Krakology Год назад

      The first row was 6x6 treated lumber wrapped in that water proof stuff.. then i drilled a 1/2 hole and used a 10 in long 1/2 wide tapcon concrete bolt to secure the logs to the concrete.. then each log had those timberlok type screws to secure to the lower log with liquid nails to help secure and also to make sure it was a tight fit

    • @livingcheap1625
      @livingcheap1625 Год назад

      @@Krakology Thank you. I decided against using a slab, going to put 6x6 posts in holes and add concrete and will build a floor joist system prior to first log row. Concrete was out of my price range. I still like your concept though, and will adapt it to my 21'x25' build.
